C. Eduardo Guerra Amorim will be talking about his research at this CEMinar. Eduardo is a population geneticist interested in human evolution, anthropology, medical genetics and in leveraging large datasets to contribute for the understanding of the biology of our species and of its closest relatives. He would like to understand the interplay between demography, mutation, natural selection and culture in determining the patterns of genetic diversity of human populations and how it impacts human health and evolution. Eduardo has experience with genomics, forensic genetics, public health and anthropological genetics. He has worked with African-Brazilian communities, Indigenous populations and lately have been working with large, public genomic databases from humans and other species.

Eduardo Amorim is an incoming assistant professor at Department of Biology, California State University Northridge.
